Position Overview:
Doon Staffing is currently seeking compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in need across various locations, including Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Stratford, Milton, Woodstock, Hamilton, Fergus, Elmira, and Arthur. As a PSW with Doon Staffing, you will play a vital role in helping our clients live independently and comfortably in their own homes, long-term care facilities, or other community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Monitor and record client health status and report any changes to appropriate team members.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for clients.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, offering a listening ear and maintaining dignity and respect.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to support client needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation in line with legal and organizational requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols, including infection control practices.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker program in Ontario.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Experience in providing personal care, ideally in a home care or healthcare setting (preferred but not mandatory).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred but not required for all positions).
- Knowledge of PSW standards and regulations in Ontario, including the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) guidelines and provincial healthcare regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations.
