Introduction:
A landscaper in Ontario is responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing outdoor spaces. This includes tasks such as planting, mowing, trimming, and general garden maintenance, as well as more complex tasks like landscape design, installation of irrigation systems, and constructing patios and walkways.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in landscaping or horticulture is preferred.
- Additional certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid/CPR) may be required
- Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and landscape design principles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate landscape machinery and tools.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime during peak seasons.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, wire strippers)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Adherence to safety protocols and regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards
- Valid Ontario driver’s license (if job involves travel to various job sites)
- Criminal background check may be required for sensitive environments
- Working At Heights Certificate preferred.
