Introduction:
As an Electrician in Ontario, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your role will ensure that all electrical work complies with local regulations, safety standards, and building codes.
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Electrical License (309A or 442A)
- Additional certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid/CPR) may be required
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent training
- High school diploma or equivalent (courses in mathematics, physics, and electrical theory preferred)
- Proven experience as an electrician (residential, commercial, or industrial experience advantageous)
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program with hands-on training
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, wire strippers)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Adherence to safety protocols and regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards
- Ability to ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Valid Ontario driver’s license (if job involves travel to various job sites)
- Criminal background check may be required for sensitive environments
- Working At Heights Certificate
